Banishing Mommy Guilt!

There was a great segment on the Today Show this morning about "Mommy Guilt".  Not only did the segment highlight the need for mom's to start taking the time to take care of themselves, but also that many more mom's are starting to let go of the guilt and realize that they are important and need to treat themselves as well.  We mom's spend so much taking care of our families but not enough time for ourselves.  And how can we be good role models to our kids when we can't practice what we preach?  We tell our kids to get enough sleep, eat healthy, nutritious foods, exercise, the importance of good hygiene, etc...but now we need to do all of that for ourselves.  Lord knows that we make enough sacrifices but I think taking an extra 5 minutes here or there for the benefit of ourselves and our families is a good thing.  It is time to let go of that mommy guilt and realize that we need to take time out for ourselves - a happy and healthy woman is a happy and healthy mom and wife and daughter and sister and friend and....well you know.  Take 5 minutes for yourself starting now...
