As we busy mom's know all too well - time is our enemy. There are not enough hours in the day to get done what needs to be done, especially fitting in a great workout! Oh but there is now - and there is an app for that!! It's called NTC - Nike Training Club and it's a free app for iPhones (I'm not sure about the availability of this app for other phones but just check and see if it's available for your phone).
I love this app because you can choose what type of workout you want (i.e. high interval cardio drills to slim down, light weights and intervals to add definition, increased weights and reps to build strength, or 15-minute workouts to target specific areas). Once you select the type of workout you want, you then select what fitness level you are at - beginner, intermediate or advanced. The next step is to choose your workout based on how long you want to workout for - 15, 30 or 45 minutes. And man do these workouts kick your butt!! This app also lets you use your own music in your iTunes library. You can either create a playlist ahead of time or just allow the app to shuffle through your library. Other bonus features of this app are that you don't need a lot of space to do the workout and it requires minimal equipment - free weights, medicine ball, mat, etc. I don't have a medicine ball so I just sub an 8lb dumbbell in it's place and it works just as well in the exercises that require one. So the next time you are crunched for time and don't think that you'll be able to make it to the gym and get in a great workout, just use this NTC app and get your workout on in the comfort of your own home. The perfect workout for a busy mom!!
